PhD Candidate in Sociology, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Hello!
My name is Anna Milewski, and I'm a PhD candidate in sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My research and teaching interests are in political sociology, social movements, sociology of religion, and comparative-historical sociology.
My work on social movement organizations as focal points is published in Mobilization. My dissertation is about the effects of secularization and political partisanship on social movements.
I am also interested in methods of protest event data collection and newspapers as a source of data. My work often involves replication of research using new protest data. My research is typically case based, often historical in nature, and I employ primarily quantitative as well as mixed methods.
I hold an M.S. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology and Economics from Washington and Lee University.
